INDICATION / BENEFITS
Blood glucose levels are controlled by insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas. When blood glucose level rises (for example, after eating food) insulin is released to control it. Absence or insufficient production or lack of response to insulin causes a rise in blood glucose levels. This condition is known as Diabetes Mellitus. The normal blood sugar levels range from 70-100mg/dl (fasting) and 110-140mg/dl (post-prandial/after eating). Diabetes mellitus is characterized by excessive thirst, frequent urination, increased hunger, weight loss, fatigue, and blurry vision. Diabetes is a chronic medical condition that can be controlled and managed.
